Looking For Free Arrest Records For Cotton County, Oklahoma
I wanted to check out my future son-in-law’s criminal history, if he has one, so I did a search for free arrest records in Cotton County, Oklahoma, where he grew up. I’m in Michigan so I couldn’t very well go to Oklahoma and do the search at their courthouse, but I thought you could get information on anybody online. This is what I found.
I found 83,100 website hits that came up for free arrest records in Cotton County, Oklahoma. Wow! That’s a lot to dig through, but I had all night so I started digging. Here’s what I know about the future son-in-law. He came from Cotton County, OK. I know his date of birth and his first and last name. I don’t even know his middle name or the names of his parents. I know his mother’s first name but she has remarried, and his father had passed away some time ago. I should think I have enough information to find his arrest records.
The first website I went to and typed in his first and last name and Cotton County, OK gave me 135 people with the same name. So I started ruling out the ones who were too old, because a few of them had ages. I was still stuck with almost 100 people with the same name and no age that could be him. I clicked on the “details” button of the first one (I was determined to find him at this point). Guess what details this free website gave me. Nothing! Just the name and no age, and if I wanted to know more I had to pay for it. I didn’t even know if I had the right person and I certainly didn’t want the arrest records for the wrong guy.
I was frustrated at this point, but I pressed on. The next website that said they had free arrest records checks turned out to be a genealogy website. Yes, it would be interesting to see who my future son-in-law’s great, great, great grandfather’s half sister twice removed is, but that wasn’t the point of my search. I needed arrest records.
Website number three (the third time is a charm) did not promise to give me anything for free. This site was very up front about their nominal fee for searching arrest records. I typed in his name and Cotton County, OK and they gave me just a few choices, with ages. I clicked on the one that I was sure was him and paid the fee. Then I could let out a sigh of relief that my future son-in-law does not have any arrest records.
