Arrest Records Not As Available As Other Records In Williamson County
I want to give kudos to the entire state of Texas for their willingness and efforts in making public records available online. Not every state in the Union is so accommodating. Specifically Williamson County records are very easy to find and search for free on the internet. You can search judicial records from both criminal and civil cases, as well as sheriff bonds and sheriff jails all from the same search page. But I need arrest records.
Arrest records in Williamson County aren’t as readily available as the others mentioned. Yes, you can search court cases and find people who have been arrested and tried, however if the arrest did not result in a court case or jail time, then you are kind of out of luck.
A lot of people are arrested and dismissed in the same day without having appeared in court or having paid a bond of any kind. Typically when someone is arrested they are put in jail in a holding cell until it is figured out what to do with them, but once they are released even the jail records won’t show that they were there. Arrest records will need to be retrieved in a different way.
You can go to the Williamson County records facility and search for yourself through the multitude of arrest records. You could also call each different law enforcement agency that has jurisdiction in Williamson County and ask the person who answers the phone to look someone up for you, but that might be hit and miss. My guess is that your results will be dependent upon how busy the person is who answered the phone, or what kind of mood they are in will determine how eager they are to get this information for you.
An easier way to find Williamson County arrest records is to go online and find one of those companies that will run background checks for a small fee. If all you need are arrest records, there are companies who will charge even less for a partial background check on someone. Some companies even have an annual registration so that you can have arrest records found for free or at a reduced price, but how often do you really need to find someone’s arrest records? This option might be okay for a business that checks the backgrounds of potential employees, but unless you have a reason to check records several times a year, you will probably be better off paying for one arrest records search.
